General Job Outline:
The maintenance and repair of all Downhole and Surface equipment pertaining to the MWD Operations.
Main Job Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Dis-assemble and re-assemble all downhole MWD tools
- MWD Pulser repairs, flush and fill
- Trouble shooting of downhole failures to board level
- Perform soldering repairs
- Verification of tool calibrations
- Test and replacement of battery staves
- Perform roll tests of directional sensors
- Rebuild bottom ends
- Maintain and upkeep all repair records
- Testing and troubleshooting of surface detection computers
- Perform tests repairs on transducers
- Tidy and maintain the repair area
Education and Experience
- Must have post secondary education, prefer Electrical, Electronics disciplines, either an Engineering degree or NAIT/SAIT with 5 years experience
- Must be proficient in soldering operations, preferable previous experience with downhole drilling tools
- If not IPC certified, prepared to undergo certification
- Knowledge of computers and proficiency with Excel spreadsheets
- Knowledge of customer service principles and practices
