Job Description:
Note: This position is Monday, Thursday & Friday (subject to change).

PRIMARY FUNCTION
Under general supervision, the Wealth Management Administrator supports a high level of member service and efficiency in the overall administration of regular registered plans and Registered Education Savings Plans for Prospera Credit Union and its affiliates. Ensures all transactions are completed accurately, in a timely manner, and in accordance with relevant regulations and legislation.


SPECIFIC ACCOUNTABILITIES
1. Processes deposits and withdrawals from registered plans including, Non-Resident transactions and transactions related to registered plans. Ensures all transfers are completed accurately and in a timely manner.

2. Ensures all registered plans conform to legislation and income tax requirements.

3. Responds to general enquiries related to registered plans. Refers more complex inquiries when appropriate.

4. Responsible for overall fee administration related to Self-Directed plans and RESP’s.

5. Monitors regular RRSP maturity dates and RRIF withdrawals to ensure all minimums are satisfied prior to year end and in compliance with the Income Tax Act (Canada).

6. Performs monthly reconciliations of RESP and other accounts. Assists in completing quarterly trial-balances to ensure the integrity of the system.

7. Administers/Reconciles index linked term products against master list.

8. Communicates with CUCBC, dealers and other financial institutions regarding registered plans.

9. Audits branch paperwork related to registered plans, analyzing transactions for errors.

10. Prepares and issues monthly statements to self-directed and Group RSP accounts holders.

11. Audits and issues official tax receipts for regular RSP’s. Issues duplicate receipts as requested.

12. Sets up and maintains all member files and ensures filing is kept up-to-date.

13. Acts as a back up for other members of the department as required.

14. Takes responsibility for self-development and continuous learning by actively participating in educational seminars, training programs and other duties, as assigned. Maintains current product and legislative knowledge regarding registered plans.
Skills Required:
SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE
• General knowledge of credit union philosophies, products, services and procedures;
• Understanding of the legislation, government regulations, and income tax requirements pertaining to registered products;
• Knowledge of financial accounting principles and the ability to audit and reconcile accounts;
• Ability to plan, schedule, organize and prioritize work assignments;
• Ability to maintain composure, professionalism and flexibility during periods of high volume;
• Demonstrated teamwork and respect towards co-workers;
• Good communications skills, both written and verbal;
• General knowledge of computer applications including Microsoft Office; experience with financial applications such as MPS and RPM;
• Working knowledge of the WealthView banking system.


SELECTION CRITERIA
• Secondary school diploma plus one year post-secondary education in areas related to Business Administration or Wealth Management.
• Three years related experience.
• Or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
