Duties Include:
- Maintains safe and secure work environment by following safe practices; keeping security information confidential.
- Perform basic security procedures and handle violent behaviors using non-defensive communication
- Computer use and literacy
- Make accurate and comprehensive reports and memos regarding all incidents
- Foot patrol of all buildings both interior and exterior
- 2 way radio use and professionalism
- Responding to Alarms and people whom require assistance
- Monitoring access control
- Collect physical and verbal evidence of misconduct or crime
- Monitoring situations, cameras, property and events
- Offer support to any person in need of assistance
- Sustain effective relationships with key stakeholders
Skills/Qualifications Required:
- Must be eligible and willing to obtain a valid security license
- Accredited school in security/policing is an asset
- Skills to deal with challenges and communicate effectively
- Must be physically able to perform the required duties
- Successful applicants will have strong public relation and customer service skills
- Flexibility to work a variety of shifts (evenings/weekends/days)
- Ability to make quick decisions in emergency response situations with minimal supervision
- Carry out written and verbal instructions
- Valid class 5 drivers license is considered an asset
- Must be bondable
- High School Diploma
- Must be 18 years of age
