Loss Prevention Officer

Duties Include:
- Make accurate reports and document all security incidents
- Conduct surveillance within the store to detect suspicions behavior and possible criminal action
- Identify high risk areas that are susceptible to thief
- 2 way radio use and professionalism
- Respond quickly to Alarms, emergency situations and individuals whom require assistance
- Assist with crowd control circumstances
- Collect physical and verbal evidence of misconduct or crime
- Monitoring situations, cameras, property and events
- Assist in the support and requests of employees and guests to maintain an successful loss prevention environment
- Sustain effective relationships with key stakeholders
Skills/Qualifications Required:
- Must have loss prevention experience and knowledge of powers of arrest in Alberta
- Experience making arrests and appearing in court are also considered an asset
- Cooperative policing, BST, a current security license and first aid is a definite asset
- Skills to deal with challenges and communicate effectively
- Must be physically able to walk 18 – 20 km/day
- Ability to write comprehensive reports and maintain proper records
- Ability to make quick decisions in emergency response situations with minimal supervision
- Carry out written and verbal instructions
- Must be bondable
- Approachable demeanor and excellent customer service skills
- Basic knowledge of security procedures, handling violent behaviors, and non-defensive communication
- High School Diploma
- Must be 18 years of age
