The Heartland Agency is dedicated to helping children and families by providing programs that advance optimal development, advance children's emotional, physical and intellectual health, increase children's safety, and link families with their communities for more positive family outcomes." In partnership with the Government of Alberta, the Heartland Agency and EvenStart Foundation are opening a new daycare program serving children between 3 and 5 years. This new initiative offers full-day childcare at a rate of $25/day. We are currently seeking energetic and dynamic individuals with a passion for working with young children to join our Agency as Childcare Educators. This new position will be located at our new EvenStart Child Development Centre (1625 18th Street NE). The start date will be Monday August 28th. Responsibilities: Work collaboratively within a team environment Plan and facilitate activities that stimulate childrens natural curiosity and support their individual skills and abilities Provide a welcoming and supportive environment to children and families Follow and integrate the core concepts of the Play, Participation and Possibilities Curriculum Framework Work within Licencing and Accreditation regulations, Health and Safety practices and protocols, program goals and Agency philosophy Observe, assess and document program activities as well as childrens individual development and progress Assist with classroom maintenance, material preparation, set up and clean up Assist the children with self-help skills where needed, including toileting and diapering Be energetic, motivated, caring and supportive Qualifications and Requirements: Alberta Child Care Certification level 1 to 3 years experience working with children ages 3 to 5 years with a variety of abilities & skills. Current First Aid certification is required. Current criminal record check (including vulnerable sector check) is required Knowledge of the Play, Participation and Possibilities Curriculum Framework is an asset Awareness of Trauma-Informed Care practices is an asset Experience with children with diverse needs is an asset Interested applicants are encouraged to submit an updated resume and cover letter in confidence.
